Music Industry Experience

Beginning in 2016, Vania Kinard and Dom Flemons have worked together as business and creative collaborators at American Songster Productions. She is Dom Flemons Manager and is the marketing specialist for “The American Songster®”brand. Dom and Vania are now based in the Chicago area but they work with Prater Day Booking Agency along with Smithsonian Folkways record label in Washington, D.C. 
Vania is a Producer and Scriptwriter on the American Songster Radio Show and Podcast, which airs monthly on “America’s Country Station” and “The Radio Home of the Grand Ole Opry” WSM in Nashville, TN. She is the on-air co-host for Season Four of American Songster Radio which is dedicated to “The Making of Traveling Wildfire”. As a creative collaborator, Vania has helped facilitate all aspects of Dom’s projects ranging from TV shows, music videos, documentaries, special events, exhibits, digital content, livestream programs, workshops, performances, and more. 
In 2018, Dom and Vania co-wrote a 40-page liner notes booklet to the album “Dom Flemons Presents Black Cowboys” on Smithsonian Folkways Recordings. It received a 2019 GRAMMY nomination for “Best Folk Album”. In 2020, they co-wrote the liner notes to the critically acclaimed Two-CD reissued album “Prospect Hill: The American Songster Omnibus” on Omnivore Recordings. Recently, they co-wrote and curated a 50-page liner notes booklet to Dom’s new solo album “Traveling Wildfire” which was released on Smithsonian Folkways Recordings in 2023 and earned another GRAMMY nomination for "Best Folk Album". 
Vania not only manages Dom’s business but she also works with executives, promoters, the media, artists, producers, photographers, directors, and VIPs from around the globe on a day-to-day basis. Over the past eight years, she has attended many prestigious venues, festivals, and industry events including; AmericanaFest, the Blues Hall of Fame Awards, the International Bluegrass Music Awards, and the GRAMMYs.
